Made it to the temple for the celebration. Some old and new faces to catch up with, mantras, dancing, children, prasada.

The best part for me was Devananda Pandit and Bhaktin Yaitza performing a guitar and cello duet, with Devananda doing the vocals in that poignant voice he has that drips with a sense of separation. The song, a mixture of sanskrit mantra and English verses,”Nitai Navadwipacandra.”

Devananda doing this himself is great, but with the added emotional depth the cello brings to a piece, it was definitely podcastable. Of course, my attraction to the cello is also in general, so I may have had a bias, but, afterwards, I heard a devotee say to Devananda that the song had brought a tear to his eye.

Bhakta Chris : please please pretty please do the needful to get a recording of those two so we can post it to the Brijabasi Spirit.
