Here comes the bride.

Here is Mercy, daughter of Sobavati and Pavana prabhus, arriving for the fire sacrifice celebrating her wedding to Janardan, held on the terraces behind the Palace.

The best part from my perspective was Janardan shooting a flaming arrow from the terraces into the lake, in order to let other men know that she was taken.

A natural consequence of a man and woman joining their lives is the birth of a child. Making it through the first year after birth is worthy of a celebration. Here is my youngest granddaughter Sydney celebrating hers.

They grow up so fast. My son Marken recently graduated from the U.S. Army Transition Course. He has a 4 year hitch in the US Navy under his belt, but when he started going to college, he joined the Army National Guard.

Because the two branches operate a little differently, soldiers making the transition have to go through everything new soldiers do in basic training, just faster. It was 6 weeks instead of 8.

He did okay, running his 2 mile in 13 minutes, amongst other things. It was held in New Mexico, and they did a full equipment 5 km march when it was 108 deg F.

It is so rewarding to see your kids mature and become responsible adults.
